Meet the Volunteers
Royal Family KIDS Camp staff, including counselors, serve entirely as dedicated volunteers who have completed thorough screening, vetting, and specialized training to care for abused, neglected, and at-risk children. The safety of each camper is a top priority, and a strict two-adults-to-one-camper ratio is carefully maintained in full compliance with RFKC policies and procedures. This intentional structure helps create a secure, supportive environment for campers, counselors, and staff alike. Beyond safety, RFKC staff strive to model a loving and wholesome family atmosphere—often providing experiences many campers have never known. The Royal Family KIDS Camp team includes compassionate individuals who serve in many meaningful roles: Counselors walk alongside campers throughout the week, guiding them through a fun, structured, and encouraging camp experience. A caring grandma and grandpa figure share stories, offer wisdom, and listen with open hearts. A dedicated camp nurse oversees the health and well-being of every camper. A creative camp drama team brings each camp theme to life through skits, reminding campers that they are worthy, loved, and deeply important. Activity center staff encourage creativity, assist with projects, and celebrate each camper’s successes—big and small. Together, these volunteers create a safe, joyful, and nurturing environment where children can simply be kids and experience the love they deserve.

Meet the Leadership
Royal Family KIDS Camp Grove, OK is led by Camp Director Kelli Johnson, a woman whose life reflects a deep and abiding love for children. A devoted mother of three and proud grandmother to nine wonderful grandchildren, Kelli has touched the lives of generations. She has poured her heart into loving, supporting, and gently reaching children who are often the hardest to love, faithfully reminding them that they are valued, deeply loved, and cherished as children of God. Through her leadership, Kelli has inspired countless RFKC volunteers, broken down barriers, and fought tirelessly on behalf of abused, neglected, and at-risk children. Her dedication to the camp and its campers remains unwavering, and in all she does, she humbly gives the glory to God. Serving alongside her is Will Johnson, co-founder and co-director of Royal Family KIDS Camp Grove, OK, and a cornerstone of the camp since its earliest days. Will’s passion for reaching children in need began long before the camp was established in Delaware County. It took root in his home state of California, where his family first sensed God’s call to carry this ministry wherever He would lead. For more than twenty years, Will has faithfully stepped into every challenge with steadfast commitment, always willing to do whatever God asks for the sake of the children. His mission remains clear and unwavering: to serve abused, neglected, and at-risk children with compassion, faithfulness, and love. Shelley Jobe serves as the Royal Family KIDS Camp co-director and nurse, and she is an integral part of every aspect of camp life. From training and equipping volunteers, to developing and overseeing the camp health care plan, Shelley faithfully manages the medical needs of each camper with skill, compassion, and diligence. She also provides vital IT support during camp and offers steady, behind-the-scenes assistance to fellow directors whenever it is needed. Shelley has given countless hours to better serve abused, neglected, and at-risk children, always placing their safety, dignity, and joy at the forefront. Her dedication to RFKC and to each camper reflects a servant’s heart, and she humbly gives all the glory to God for the work He allows her to do.
